Our Story
Where sustainable farming meets fine dining, and native gardens inspire wonder
Meet Angela & David Wright
Two lives shaped by nature, animals and a quiet conviction that all life is interconnected. From the windswept isolation of Antarctica to the rolling parks of Devon and Cornwall, every step has led here — to Fairhill, on the Sunshine Coast.

Angela Wright MBE
Founder & Creator
As a child, Angela lived a life rich with imagination — surrounded by farm animals, dogs, ponies, gardens and open land. She climbed trees, built dens in barns, and dreamed of creating something even more magical.
That dream became Crealy Great Adventure Parks— destinations across Devon and Cornwall where children explored, connected with animals and discovered courage through play. Under Angela's leadership, Crealy grew into a major UK tourism attraction. Angela was the first female Vice Chairman of BALPPA (British Association of Leisure Parks Piers & Attractions) and was invited to be the first woman Chair of this association founded in 1936. She was awarded an MBE for services to tourism at Buckingham Palace by HM Queen Elizabeth II.
After moving to Australia, Angela recreated her childhood vision again — this time at Fairhill. The gardens and farm operate without glyphosate, avoid synthetic toxins, and produce real food without seed oils, margarine, or artificial ingredients. Mother of five and grandmother of four, her work remains grounded in one belief:
“All life is interconnected — and worthy of respect.”
David Jonathan Wright
Property Director
David is a biologist, adventurer and land steward whose life has been shaped by a deep respect for the natural world and the quiet discipline of working with it rather than against it.
After graduating in biology, David joined the British Antarctic Surveyand spent three years living and working in Antarctica. During the long polar winters his team was “frozen in” — the surrounding ocean solidifying into sea ice, no ships, no aircraft, complete isolation in one of the harshest environments on Earth. This extraordinary period instilled a lifelong calmness, practicality, and an ability to solve complex challenges under pressure.
Returning from Antarctica, David joined Angela in building Crealy into one of the UK's most successful family attractions. Today, as Property Director at Fairhill Adventure Gardens, he is sympathetically restoring this unique wildlife estate while building its future — delivering Angela's dreams with precision, care, and deep respect for the land.
“A place not imposed upon the land, but gently revealed — through patience, care, and a lifetime of experience.”

Two beginnings
Angela and David are both born in the United Kingdom — Angela on 20 January, David on 9 September. Two paths that would later cross and reshape an industry.
David at the bottom of the world
After graduating in biology, David spends three years with the British Antarctic Survey — “frozen in” through polar winters with no ships, no aircraft and complete isolation. The discipline and calm of those years shape everything that follows.
Crealy Great Adventure Parks
Angela founds Crealy with a clear mission: to encourage respect for animals and help children develop courage through play. Together they grow it into one of the UK best-loved family attractions, with parks across Devon and Cornwall.
MBE for services to tourism
Angela is awarded an MBE by HM Queen Elizabeth II. Angela was the first female Vice Chairman of BALPPA (British Association of Leisure Parks Piers & Attractions) and was invited to be the first woman Chair of this association founded in 1936. She also served as a leading voice in the global attractions industry through IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions).
Fairhill begins
Angela and David emigrate to Queensland and create Fairhill — a regenerative model integrating native plants, animals, education and true farm-to-table dining. No glyphosate, no synthetic toxins, no margarine. Real food, real soil, real connection.
