Fairhill Animal Farmyard Adventures: Winter Wonders edition

A whole new set of Winter Adventures — hold the latest newly hatched chicks, feed the guinea pigs their Winter Feast, join in the Goats Promenade and walk the mini-goats to Turtle Lake, the NEW Treasure Quest & Scavenger Hunt around Turtle Lake (in your own time), the NEW Goats Walkabout Paddock where you can go in to play on the rocks with the cheeky mini goats and chickens, discover the Forest Fairy Trail, and the Mini Engineers & Builders Zone with the silver sand pit. Plus new Winter plantings in the Nursery, the most delicious farm-to-table Winter menu from our Executive Chef Jerome Kiers for casual family dining, farm shop & local makers' marketplace — room to roam, play, learn and discover.

Inspired by Nature. For Our Future. Celebrating 50 Years of World Environment Festivities on the Sunshine Coast. Join us at Fairhill for a living celebration of nature, animals, regenerative living, and community. The very first World Environment Day Festival on the Sunshine Coast was held at Fairhill in 1978 by founders Barbara and Alex Hansa. This Winter Solstice Weekend, we continue that tradition with two days of discovery, connection, and seasonal celebration. Gather around the firepit with S'mores, join the lantern parade, enjoy delicious local seasonal food, and experience a family-friendly festival filled with nature, learning, and adventure. Celebrate the middle of winter this weekend with these Festival Highlights: Meet the Makers - local artists and artisan manufacturers including Jenny Moodie of Jenny Moodie Design. Learn about Jenny's design process. 🌱 Huge Winter Plant Clearance – nursery bargains and inspiration for the planting season ahead 🌿 Fairhill Plant Matchmaking – speed dating for shrubs and personalised matchmaking for plants 🚜 Guided Farm Tours with the Fairhill Rangers 🐐 Meet our mini goats in their walk-in Pets' Paddock 🐥 Baby Chick Cuddles and Egg Collecting Expeditions 🥕 Guinea Pig Teatime Treats 🧚 Kids' Crafting – Fairy Wands and Wizard Staffs 🗺 Treasure Quests & Scavenger Hunts 📖 Fairy Tales Under the Tree of Forgetfulness 🔥 Bonfire, Firepit Marshmallow Toasting & Lantern Parade 🍽 Local Seasonal Winter Menu featuring fresh Sunshine Coast produce (last orders 2pm) Gates open 8am. Make every day Buy Local Day at Fairhill Adventure Gardens. As part of the Sunshine Coast Council Buy Local Day (Saturday 27 June 2026 — also the first day of the winter school holidays), celebrate everything local under one roof. Fairhill Adventure Gardens is home to Queensland's original native botanic gardens, the iconic nursery, the Sunshine Coast's farm-to-table café restaurant, the farm shop, the local makers' marketplace, and Fairhill Farmyard Animal Adventures. Look out for special Bonanza Bargains, our Local Seasonal Menu, and Winter Adventures across the gardens. Open all day, every day from 8am. Meet the Makers — local manufacturer Kane Dabbouss from Red Soil Organics will be here sharing the secrets of successful growing. 10am at the Country Store.

The Curated Plate at Fairhill — Bush Harvest Morning Tea
Sunday 2 August 2026, 11am – 2pm
Fairhill's contribution to The Curated Plate, one of the Sunshine Coast's premier food festivals. A celebration of indigenous and international flavours with paddock-to-plate goodness — native botanicals, seasonal harvests and home-grown produce. Welcome beverage (Prosecco, Rosé Wine Spritz, Hot Toddy or botanical refreshment), then a full morning tea spread: house-made quiches with farm eggs, pasture-raised pork sausage rolls, pork belly with crispy crackling, feta-spinach-lemon myrtle pastries, macadamia pesto cheese straws, Devonshire scones with clotted cream, orange-almond cake, hazelnut-coconut cake, South African melk tart and seasonal fruit with rosella syrup. Colour-changing native bush tea, locally roasted coffee, chai, pink lattes and bushtucker fruit punch on tap. Live music, flower-garlanded goats, newly-hatched chicks for photos and Animal Farmyard Adventures for the kids.
