Fairhill Woodland Workshops
Every Thursday, 8:45am to 9:15am
Beginning Thursday 6 August 2026: a creative, Ranger-led nature workshop designed especially for homeschooling families, every Thursday from 8:45am to 9:15am. Each week, children will enjoy a different hands-on activity inspired by the natural world: creating magical wizard staffs, decorating leaves, building fairy treasures, crafting with sticks, seeds and flowers, and celebrating the changing seasons. Designed to complement Fairhill's Ranger-led experiences, families can easily join our morning animal sessions before and/or after the workshop, making it part of a fun-filled day of learning, creativity and adventure. FREE for Fairhill Homeschool Members. $10 per child for non-members (plus Fairhill admission if applicable), pay on arrival. Suitable for all ages. "Create, imagine and take home a little piece of Fairhill." For a full day, Fairhill Adventure sessions begin at 8.30am and run every half past the hour through till 12.30pm. Fairhill Adventures Day Passes and Memberships all include Little Sprouts imaginative indoor play, the Little Dig Zone and all there is at Fairhill, including the Ranger-led morning sessions every half past the hour.

National Bilby Day at Fairhill

National Bilby Day celebrates one of Australia's most loved threatened species, and while you won't find a bilby at Fairhill, you will find a whole garden working for the wildlife we do have. Spend the Sunday with us marking the day the Fairhill way: out among the animals, the rangers and the bush. Our rangers will be talking Australian threatened species through the morning sessions, from the bilby's story to the birds, frogs and gliders that call our own gardens home. Fairhill is a registered Land for Wildlife property with more than 3,000 native species in the ground, and there is no better classroom for a young conservationist. Fairhill Farmyard Adventures runs through the morning, baby goat cuddles are at 12.30pm in the Kids' Barn, and the Gardens Café is open all day. Bring the kids, meet the animals, and go home knowing a little more about the neighbours we share the bush with.

Fairhill members get the first look at the new G.O.A.T. Playbarn on Friday 18 September, 3pm to 5pm, the afternoon before it opens to everyone as the highlight of the Famous Fairhill Spring Festival. The Playbarn is a playful new country experience inspired by the little goats that have captured hearts across Australia, and the new home of Fairhill's miniature goat kids. The festival opens with the official opening of the new G.O.A.T. Playbarn at 8.30am on Saturday 19 September: the Sunshine Coast's newest country experience inspired by the little goats that have captured hearts across Australia, and the new home of Fairhill's miniature goat kids. Recreating the famous festival when spring arrives at Fairhill, a celebration of nature, creativity and joy. The gardens come alive with flowers, animals, makers and magical moments for all ages. Dress up and be part of the magic, with prizes for every fairy, sprite, elf, good witch and fae being (prizes for children, grown-ups AND pups).

New for spring: fairy tales under the Tree of Forgetfulness on Sunday afternoon, rounding off the Famous Fairhill Spring Festival weekend. Settle in under the tree for the stories, then carry the magic along the Forest Fairy Trail. Festival costumes are very welcome for a second outing. Fairhill Farmyard Adventures runs through the morning, baby goat cuddles are at 12.30pm in the Kids' Barn, and the Gardens Café is open all day.

World Rivers Day at Turtle Lake

All day, 8am to 4pm
World Rivers Day falls on the fourth Sunday of September, a worldwide celebration of waterways and everything that lives in and around them. You won't find a river at Fairhill, but you will find Turtle Lake, and on Sunday 27 September the water takes the headline. Head down to the lake and meet the locals: long-necked turtles, friendly ducks happy to be fed, and Australian water dragons soaking up the spring sun on the rocks. The Mini Goats Promenade makes its daily walk down to the water too, so the goats will be marking the day with you. Turtle Treasures, a treasure hunt around the lake, runs through the day. And with the spring school holidays in full swing, it is a very easy Sunday to say yes to. Fairhill Farmyard Adventures runs through the morning, baby goat cuddles are at 12.30pm in the Kids' Barn, and the Gardens Café is open all day.

World Animal Day at Fairhill

World Animal Day falls on 4 October every year, and it is about one simple thing: the animals we share the world with, and the people who look after them. At Fairhill it lands on a Sunday, the final weekend of the spring school holidays, with the King’s Birthday long weekend running straight on behind it. So come and spend it with ours. Fairhill Farmyard Adventures runs through the morning with the Rangers, the guinea pigs hold court at Cuddle Corner, and the Mini Goats Promenade makes its daily walk down to the water. Baby goat cuddles are at 12.30pm in the Kids’ Barn. Carry on down to Turtle Lake afterwards, where the long-necked turtles, the ducks and the water dragons will be having their own day out in the spring sun. The Gardens Café is open all day, and the nursery is there for a stroll before you head home.

A Right Royal Adventure: King's Birthday at Fairhill

Crown-making and the quest from 10am, Royal Goat Promenade 11.30am, Crowning 12.15pm
Make a crown. Follow the quest. Meet Fairhill's little Kings of the Kids! On the King's Birthday public holiday, children make a nature crown, explore Fairhill on a royal quest, then gather for the Crowning of the G.O.A.T. Make your own nature crown: recycled card bands, crayons, leaf and flower shapes and fallen leaves at the craft station through the morning. Make it, wear it, then join the parade. The Royal Garden Quest: every family collects a quest sheet at admission and follows the clues through the gardens, the Wild Nature Realm and the Farmyard. Find the dragon, visit the kingdom's smallest farmers, discover a plant fit for a crown, locate the frog hotel and count Fairhill's royal goats. Hand in your completed sheet for a Royal Fairhill Explorer stamp or sticker. The Crowning of the G.O.A.T.: the Rangers lead the goats on a short Royal Promenade, followed by children wearing their nature crowns. Each goat is introduced with a playful royal title before the Crowning, and supervised goat photos and cuddles round it off, subject to the goats' willingness as always. Fairhill Farmyard Adventures runs through the morning and the Gardens Café is open all day.

Halloween PumpkinFest

Sunday Fairhill Chill live music at Fairhill. The Charles Camilleri Connection are back with us: raw, soulful and spellbinding, the powerful collaboration between legendary vocalist and guitarist Barry Charles and internationally seasoned guitarist and songwriter Paul Camilleri. Expect raw, expressive guitar work, Barry on his paisley Stratocaster, with soulful lead vocals and acoustic rhythm from Paul. It is stripped-back blues that highlights the chemistry between two players rather than polished production. Their take on folk-blues classics like John Martyn's I Don't Wanna Know, from the 1973 album Solid Air with its refrain "I don't want to know about evil, only want to know about love", keeps all that vulnerability and warmth and gives it a bluesier edge. Settle in for lunch at The Gardens Café. Tables are available in the gardens on the day, just come along and join us. Open 8am-4pm, live music 11am-2pm, last orders 2pm.
