Join us at Fairhill for a living celebration of nature, animals, regenerative living, and community. The very first World Environment Day Festival on the Sunshine Coast was held at Fairhill in 1978 by founders Barbara and Alex Hansa. This Winter Solstice Weekend, we continue that tradition with two days of discovery, connection, and seasonal celebration. Gather around the firepit with S'mores, join the lantern parade, enjoy delicious local seasonal food, and experience a family-friendly festival filled with nature, learning, and adventure. Celebrate the middle of winter this weekend with these Festival Highlights: Meet the Makers - local artists and artisan manufacturers including Jenny Moodie of Jenny Moodie Design. Make every day Buy Local Day at Fairhill Adventure Gardens. As part of the Sunshine Coast Council Buy Local Day (Saturday 27 June 2026 — also the first day of the winter school holidays), celebrate everything local under one roof. Fairhill Adventure Gardens is home to Queensland's original native botanic gardens, the iconic nursery, the Sunshine Coast's farm-to-table café restaurant, the farm shop, the local makers' marketplace, and Fairhill Farmyard Animal Adventures. Look out for special Bonanza Bargains, our Local Seasonal Menu, and Winter Adventures across the gardens. Open all day, every day from 8am. Meet the Makers — local manufacturer Kane Dabbouss from Red Soil Organics will be here sharing the secrets of successful growing. 10am at the Country Store.

Sunday Fairhill Chill live music at Fairhill. We're excited to welcome The Charles Camilleri Connection to Fairhill. Barry Charles and Paul Camilleri are renowned Sunshine Coast musicians with a loyal following, blending blistering guitar solos with exciting vocal dynamics. Settle in for lunch at The Gardens Café and drop a donation in the hat for the musicians. First Sunday of the winter school holidays.

Why not spend Sunday laughing with friends, getting dirt under your fingernails, and having something to show for it? Sign up for Dr Sarah Pye's 'Plant and Sip' workshop to build your own personalised terrarium. In this 90-minute workshop Sarah leads you through the stages of creating a unique, long lasting 'rainforest in a jar' and caring for it when you get home. All materials, and a mimosa are included. Festive winter dining experience.

Fairhill's contribution to The Curated Plate, one of the Sunshine Coast's premier food festivals. A celebration of indigenous and international flavours with paddock-to-plate goodness — native botanicals, seasonal harvests and home-grown produce. Welcome beverage (Prosecco, Rosé Wine Spritz, Hot Toddy or botanical refreshment), then a full morning tea spread: house-made quiches with farm eggs, pasture-raised pork sausage rolls, pork belly with crispy crackling, feta-spinach-lemon myrtle pastries, macadamia pesto cheese straws, Devonshire scones with clotted cream, orange-almond cake, hazelnut-coconut cake, South African melk tart and seasonal fruit with rosella syrup. Colour-changing native bush tea, locally roasted coffee, chai, pink lattes and bushtucker fruit punch on tap. Live music, flower-garlanded goats, newly-hatched chicks for photos and Animal Farmyard Adventures for the kids.

International Dog Day Weekend — celebrated annually in August, a day dedicated to honouring and appreciating the special bond between humans and dogs. We have a free treat for all dogs who come along, in addition to the Puppaccinos at the Gardens Café and wonderful walks in the gardens. International Dog Day is celebrated on August 26th.

Family adventures plus hobby horse gymkhanas and real live piglets on the farm. Includes the Famous Fairhill Spring Festival and the Spring Equinox on 23 September celebrating renewal and new growth.

Recreating the famous festival when spring arrives at Fairhill — a celebration of nature, creativity and joy. The gardens come alive with flowers, animals, makers and magical moments for all ages. Dress up and be part of the magic, with prizes for every fairy, sprite, elf, good witch and fae being (prizes for children, grown-ups AND pups).

Spend the day in the gardens with us: settle in for lunch at The Gardens Café, wander the original native botanic gardens and the iconic nursery, browse the Fairhill Country Store and the local makers' marketplace, and say hello to the animals on the farm.
