Fairhill's First Baby Goats

Why every name begins with H

Every creature born at Fairhill in the same year is given a name beginning with the same letter, so we can always tell how old they are. 2026 is our year of H, which is how five little goats became Harry, Henry, Hugo, Harvey and Hazel. It is an old herd-keeping habit and it means that years from now, an H name still tells you exactly when that animal arrived.

Thank you to everyone who sent in a name. There were 91 entries and five gift cards, and the five winners were announced live at the opening of The Kids' Barn.

Ten more kids have arrived, and they need names too

Our newest Miniature Pygmy goat kids are looking for names, with ten Fairhill Family Memberships to be won. See Name the New Goat Kids to enter.
