Sheltered spaces to explore
Four big undercover spaces across the gardens — each with its own character.
Longhouse Pavilion
Big undercover space for sheltered dining, gatherings, and play. Stay warm and dry while still feeling part of the gardens around you.
The Rotunda
Our original garden dining nook: covered, close to the counter and toilets, and perfect for a long rainy-day lunch for small groups of up to 8.
The Atrium
Home to our Farm Shop and the local makers' marketplace where you'll find treasures from our local farms, food producers and Sunshine Coast artisans.
Cuddle Corner
Filled with fluffy chicks to hold and gentle guinea pigs to feed. A favourite of small visitors — and a magical rainy-day discovery.
Plenty to do under cover
Feed the guinea pigs, cuddle the chicks, get crafty, browse the indoor market, or settle in for lunch — here's a peek at what's waiting for you out of the rain.

Coffee, cake, and the scent of rain
Enjoy a coffee, brunch, or sweet treat — cosy and dry undercover — while the gardens fill with that unmistakable earthy perfume the rain brings. There's a word for it: petrichor.
Did you know? The word was coined in 1964 by Australian scientists Richard Thomas and Isabel Bear. It comes from the Greek petra (stone) and ichor (the ethereal fluid of the gods). A bit of poetry for your morning brew.

Or choose to dance in the rain
Bring your gum boots, splash in the puddles, explore paths glistening with raindrops, and embrace the wild joy of childhood. Some of our happiest memories are made under grey skies — with muddy boots, rosy cheeks, and children discovering that nature is just as magical in the rain.
At Fairhill, a little rain is simply part of the adventure.
The gardens come more alive
Rainy days slow things down in the best possible way — encouraging curiosity, imagination, puddle-jumping, and old-fashioned outdoor adventures.
Frogs sing louder
The gardens wake up when it rains. Listen for the chorus of native frogs in the rainforest pockets.
Plants sparkle
Raindrops cling to leaves and petals, turning every plant into something that catches the light.
Turtles peek out
Our resident turtles get curious in the rain. Tread quietly near the ponds and you might spot one.
Petrichor in the air
That earthy, irresistible scent that rises off the gardens after a shower — nature's perfume.
An all-weather Sunshine Coast destination
Whether it's sunshine, misty mornings, or summer storms rolling across the gardens, Fairhill is designed for families, gardeners, food lovers, and nature explorers every day of the year.
Because every day in the gardens is an adventure.
