About this event
Meet the remarkable native bees of Australia, right here in the gardens. Ian Driver of A Green Soul Native Bees returns to Fairhill for a hands-on morning covering both our native stingless bees and our solitary bees. Learn how to attract them into your own garden with the right plants and insect hotels, watch a live stingless hive division, and taste native honey. You'll build your own bee hotel to take home, and leave with resources and a sample bag to start your bee journey. Stay on afterwards for lunch at the Gardens Café and a stroll through the nursery.
Meet your host
Ian Driver
Ian Driver is the owner and operator of A Green Soul Native Bees, a family venture based here on the Sunshine Coast. His journey with native bees began more than ten years ago while greening up his family's life, and he now builds custom native beehives and runs beekeeping workshops and education sessions across South East Queensland. Ian is a Past-President of the Australian Native Bee Association and currently serves as its Branch Liaison Officer.
