Fairhill Swap & Barter Scheme

Fair exchange is no robbery

We believe in the “Fair exchange is no robbery” proverb. As such, we have the Fairhill Swap & Barter Scheme, which we introduced to our local Homeswap Group this month.

There is so much work to do to completely renovate, restore and maintain Fairhill that we are happy to provide Memberships in exchange for a contribution. This could include:

Two volunteers in the gardens at Fairhill, saying hello to one of the goats

One-off time spent helping with gardening, weeding, cleaning or painting. Children are welcome to accompany.

The Fellowship of the Gardens gardening club is a good fun way to be part of Fairhill, and gifts free Membership

A basket of freshly collected eggs from the farm at Fairhill

Gifting fruit, vegetables, jams, pickles or preserves for the Fairhill Farm Shop or the kitchen

Bringing handmade items to sell in our Local Makers’ Marketplace. We stock wonderful products from local artists, candle makers, crafters, jewellery makers, needlecraft, toy makers and other local creators. (Also always happy to meet new local vendors who’d like to be stocked in our Country Store, most of what is sold at Fairhill is made locally and we have supported many local vendors for over a year).

We are open to other suggestions

We love seeing local families, individuals and groups at Fairhill and so provide many options for how to be part of Fairhill.
